At the end of the article, you will find my downloadable Backpacking Checklist.
Backpack food Items
Here is the deal. I’m not a gourmet backpacker cook like
other people. Food is just fuel for me. So, I keep my food simple and quick to
prepare.
Trail Mix & Snacks
Usually bags of trail mix (nuts, dried fruit, etc.) and
other energy bars. I prefer Snickers and Clif Protein Bars. This works as a
snack for both my snacks and lunch. Maybe some Knorr Soup or an apple as an
addition.
Dinner: Dehydrated food
Good-To-Go Backpacker Food - Tasty dehydrated food bags that
require hot water to prepare. You can eat it right out of the bag too! I prefer
Nestle's Maggi.
Breakfast: Fast Oatmeal
Quaker Protein Oatmeal - Fast packs of oatmeal with protein
added to different flavours.
I usually add dried berries as well.
Coffee!
1. Starbucks Via Instant Coffee - I will be the first to tell
you that I am not a big fan of Starbucks personally. But their fast packs of
coffee are excellent.
2. Or Try Nestle Coffee Sachets.
Bear Proof Container
Ursack Major Bear Bag - Easy to pack than a container with
sturdy cases, this Kevlar bag keeps bears and mice out of your food.
